mario is super
The finished product of the Super Mario Brothers vinyl wall decals I made for my 7-year-old nephew. I traced out all of the individual pieces in illustrator, used a cutting machine to cut the shapes in the correct colour and then reassembled each character like a layered (sticky, ridiculous, air bubbled, infuriating) puzzle. Why is Luigi on a motorcycle and Yoshi enjoying a casual ride on Bullet Bill you ask? Well, because my art director was 7, that's why. Maybe this Mario wall will serve as a not so subtle hint for the Nintendo Wii that is on the top of his Christmas List : )Wednesday, August 11, 2010

kiddie style

The other day I had a nice stroll down South Granville and visited some of the shops. After dreaming of fancy kitchen goodies in Williams Sonoma, I stopped in at Pottery Barn Kids. I fell in love with so many of the bedroom accessories - is it bad if I wanted some of these for myself? : )

a beautiful breakfast
Adorable handmade felt food, crafted by my good friend, Debbie. She made these for another friend's 3-year-old daughter (who apparently flips the soft pancakes in her own mini frying pan!). I love all of her attention to detail - check out the little seeds on the fruit and the blueberry and butter on the pancakes!Wednesday, March 10, 2010
